Some who dream a freer mirth<\/h5>\n
Upon a warm, less tilted earth<\/h5>\n
Can sigh for ghosts, a crystal soul,<\/h5>\n
The puzzled parts of a greater whole.<\/h5>\n

Some sing the scarlet songs of loss<\/h5>\n
Beneath a raised and flowered cross<\/h5>\n
That stretch to praise the Vanished Word<\/h5>\n
In verse unfinished, hymns unheard.<\/h5>\n

 <\/p>\n

And meanwhile, harlot hymns abound<\/h5>\n
To waste their words in packaged sound<\/h5>\n
While th’ honest, broken buyer screams<\/h5>\n
For weaker kings of prouder dreams.<\/h5>\n

 <\/p>\n

Some wonder then if worship starts<\/h5>\n
In poorer poets’ better hearts<\/h5>\n
Ne’er risking what the word is worth<\/h5>\n
